What a lifesaver dependencies are in Intune. We use them in our AutoPilot build so apps install in the order we want.

If you have a build you want to be specific about dependencies make a difference.

Say you want to have a folder structure for log files, the order of applications installed or a one time applying start menu. Dependencies help.

As an example you begin with a PowerShell script to create a folder or folders\

Next you add say Adobe Reader as dependent on the folder creation

Then Microsoft Edge dependent one Adobe

then so on.

When you update an application it will run through the dependencies but if the detection method matches nothing will happen other than the update or new application.
